Called to Account

I have a confession to make; I've been a little sloppy in my theology lately, and I feel convicted to take a step back and tighten up the reins a bit.

First, a concerned person called me to account for calling President Obama "the Obamanation of Desolation." This person admonished me that others may not hear the word I am sharing, even if it is true, if I am "name calling." Point taken. I did pray about this, and I believe I received an answer, but I am still chewing on this.

Next, I rather cavalierly mentioned Joel Osteen in a conversation and indicated that he said we shouldn't necessarily take what the apostles said in the Bible too literally. A friend asked me to justify my remarks, and in researching further I realized this was a "friend of a friend" kind of thing; I had not listened to Joel's remarks myself, and was taking someone else's word for what he said. I did the research, listened to two interviews with Joel, and I stand corrected on this particular issue. This is not an endorsement of Joel Osteen or his ministry, just a confession that I was in error to receive someone else's accusation against a brother without looking at the evidence for myself.

Finally, I committed pretty much the same error with John Hagee. In this case, it has been widely reported that John Hagee has said that the Jewish people don't need a Messiah (Jesus) because they have a separate covenant with God that has never been withdrawn. While in this case I did do some research, I have to admit that it seems the jury is still out on this one - both from John Hagee's own words as well as from the reports of others. There seems to be some confusion about what John Hagee's stance on these topics really is.

SO... I am confessing publicly because I made the comments publicly. I am aware that the Holy Spirit is calling me to be more careful with the words of my mouth, and I will endeavor to do so going forward.

I am thankful for the grace and mercy extended to us through the blood of Jesus Christ, and my only desire is to be more like Him.

The Real Reason Obamacare is Destined to Fail

"Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and depend upon horses and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord! Yet He also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back His words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the help of them that work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out His hand, both he that helpeth shall fall and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together."
Isaiah 31:1-2

In the Old Testament, Israel is often used as a spiritual reference to God's people and Egypt often is used to represent the world.

In the prophetic scripture above, we see the real reason that Obamacare is destined to fail. It is not about social responsibility, or political correctness. Ultimately, it is about choosing man, and the world, as your deliverer instead of the One True God.

The problem is, man is "hard wired" to be dependent. It is our nature to expect, and to look for, a deliverer. Satan knows this. So when dependence on God (right relationship and healthy dependence) is removed, Satan provides a substitute. In the case of Israel, it was Egypt; the most powerful nation on earth at the time, with "many horses and chariots". Israel had forgotten her God and so, in time of need, she looked to an earthly ally - a deliverer, a "false Christ" - to deliver her.

It was the only reasonable thing to do.

I've heard a lot lately about the hypocrisy of Christians who oppose Obamacare. "If they were really Christians, they would care about all the poor people who don't have insurance" is one of the socialist mantras.

The fact is, I do care, and I do want to see people healed, delivered, and provided for. That is the very reason I am opposed to Obamacare, and most of the other machinations that emanate from the Obama White House.

God will not have to judge America; we are judging ourselves. We demonstrate our guilt to the extent that we turn to the idols of social welfare and government programs to be our provider, our healer, our deliverer.

We demonstrate our guilt to the extent that we call "right" wrong and ridicule true righteousness.

Our President is representative of our nation. We have chosen to give that high office to a man whose name belies his heritage and his birthright; who was the leader of an anti-American organization while in college, sat under the teaching of an anti-American false teacher for most of his adult life, and who has demonstrated and written about his contempt for the Constitution, the Republic, personal liberty, and Christian values.

We have, in essence, deliberately and thoughtfully elected to our highest office the man who best represents US... we believe he will lead us into a glorious post-Christian era - an era where we are free of the "bondage" of Christianity, free of the demands of God. Like the children of Israel, we have declared our apostasy and uncovered our nakedness. We have, with our vote, shaken our fist in the face of the Most High God who alone has blessed this nation, showered her with mercy, and healed her wounds.

And now we are saying to this false christ we have elected "Be our healer!" "Be our deliverer!"

Hear the Word of the Lord: God will give you the desire of your heart; and the idol you have created will consume you; the wealth of the nation will not be enough to pay for his grand schemes. Your children will live in bondage and your grandchildren will be slaves, just as every nation before you that has traded the wisdom of men for the wisdom of God.

How the AMA views Obamacare

"AMA Insight"
The American Medical Association has weighed in on Obama's new health care package.
The Allergists were in favor of scratching it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.
The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

Meanwhile, Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while the Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.
Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, "Oh, grow up!"
The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing and the Internists claimed it would indeed be a bitter pill to swallow.
The Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would "put a whole new face on the matter."
The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.
Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and those lofty Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.
In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in  Washington .
